Autodesk Maya

before i can rig my model i need to import my model from blender to maya

When importing objs you will need to do these steps so you can use the model in maya

You could use OBJ and FBX files

534534534.PNG

FBXs are recommended because

OBJs files make the model massively smaller

but FBXs files don't want to import then try OBJ files.

When exporting a Obj file make sure to make it bigger by 10x so it is the same size as the fbx model

now you can import it maya just make sure you do these two things when you have imported it

1.PNG

Highlight the imported model and separate in the mesh tab

2.PNG

and make sure you centure pivot too

Rigging a character

In Maya I was using the rigging tools to make the model much easier to animate by moving the child rigs

The main parent rig which hold all other child rigs is at the thigh of this model

After all the rigging is done i used bind rig

to fuse the rig with the model if the rig is rainbow coloured that means it has binded

make sure you use add and the flood tool on the weight paint as it is massively easier

and more relyable

Substance Designer

3D Brick

On Thursday 21st January i started using Substance Designer and our first task was  to make a brick texture

This was all the code i used for the brick Texture

The special thing about this texture is that it is 3d.

if you look closely You can see that the lines are indented.

Make sure for each section you want to have a different colour seperate them into different folders for each section

3.PNG

Black masks were used for selecting curtain bits of the model to be coloured and are used for sublayers for effects.

This is the button to pick parts that you want to show when a black mask is over the model.

Final project
